During instrument checkout gcam prevented the process (like last night). Unlike last night, more actions are required (init and startNubs were not effective). Jack instructed Amanda and Mark on changing DIS gratings, the slit wheel, and calibrating the gratings. Mark got practice mounting DIS. Engineering task were performed: Reset the hub in tcc; reset alt, az and rot drive controllers; Mark zeroed the NA2 rotator. We left DIS mounted in case Russet wants to do contamination checks. We spent a lot of time going over ARCSAT operations with Mark. The echelle dewar was down to 239, so it was refilled at 05:30. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 31 28 11 259 (W) cloudy humid 17:00 29 28 8 253 (WSW) cloudy humid 18:00 28 27 10 224 (SW) cloudy humid 19:00 28 29 8 247 (WSW) cloudy humid 20:00 27 27 15 236 (SW) cloudy humid 21:00 27 27 20 222 (SW) cloudy humid 22:00 27 27 24 233 (SW) cloudy humid 23:00 27 27 12 208 (SSW) cloudy lt snow 00:00 27 25 13 250 (WSW) cloudy humid 01:00 27 25 9 296 (WNW) cloudy humid 02:00 27 25 16 291 (WNW) cloudy humid 03:00 26 26 14 286 (WNW) cloudy humid 04:00 26 25 13 283 (WNW) cloudy lt snow 05:00 27 25 9 322 (NW) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
