Croom The night started with very bad weather, humidity, wind, dust and snow. But the weather improved wen we were committed to in-dome engineering. Dust counts were high in the afternoon but stopped reading due to high humidity. Manual readings were taken at 22:45 show 1200 particles per 0.1 cu ft. We were open for the second program of the night, then during t he third program we closed for a while due to borderline wind and clouds. The wind and temperature improved but the clouds caused the observer to give up before twilight. When we set inst changing from Tspec to kosmos, the secondary mirror looked as if B & C did not move at all on the first iteration. On the second iteration, the countdown whet to negative nunbers: 2024-01-12 07:30:31 .tcc.0 0 tcc w Text="Collimation Failure: Timed out" The same error msg appeared on the third iteration, but after a delay the mirror seemed to behave normally. The same error messages appeared at the same time in TUI on ObsA and on Russet's laptop. During the morning slew to park, there was a fiducial error too large to correct, but the correction was applied on the second magnet crossing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM04 K T/H 00:29 00:39 M2 timed out during focus move. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:14 tcamera 550( 666) -45 54 -13.2 -9.3 -6.2 -10.6 -12.0 Ks 1.37 00:51 kimage 150( -94) 24 58 -13.5 -12.6 -11.4 -13.3 -13.4 - 1.86 03:54 kimage 400( 143) -54 47 -11.4 -13.1 -12.6 -12.9 -11.8 - 1.37 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 22 20 46 278 (W) cloudy lt snow 17:00 21 21 31 265 (W) cloudy lt snow 18:00 18 18 19 272 (W) cloudy lt snow 19:00 17 16 24 267 (W) cloudy lt snow 20:00 16 14 21 296 (WNW) cloudy humid 21:00 12 9 35 301 (WNW) cloudy humid 22:00 8 5 23 322 (NW) ptly cldy humid 23:00 8 1 21 322 (NW) mstly clr none 00:00 8 1 12 354 (N) clear none 01:00 8 -1 11 349 (N) clear none 02:00 7 -3 11 349 (N) mstly clr none 03:00 8 -7 11 356 (N) 132 mstly clr none 04:00 11 -13 13 333 (NNW) 108 mstly clr none 05:00 11 -15 3 278 (W) 586 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
