After midnight we had a really good rainstorm! Even though the rain eventually cleared up, we stayed totally overcast, and didn't open back up for the rest of the night. Engineering Tasks: - Restarted hub and tcc - Reset axes controllers - Zeroed NA2 rotator - Grid inst block for KOSMOS center slit (~2% change) - Tested telescope alt moves with higher vel/accel/jerk settings; one motion error at 71.8 moving downwards but nothing else - Updated KOSMOS cheat sheet - Tested KOSMOS disperser wheel rotations We were only on sky for about an hour with KOSMOS. I didn't need to focus to do the inst block, we had ok enough focus for that, and we had to close when I was trying to focus but I was getting highly changing measurements on kcam with the center slit, but we were somewhere between 1.2 and 2.2 arcseconds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 66 38 15 260 (W) 1306 cloudy none 17:00 63 38 9 273 (W) 1282 cloudy rain 18:00 57 39 16 66 (ENE) 1107 cloudy none 19:00 55 38 8 85 (E) 1178 mstly clr none 20:00 56 37 6 192 (SSW) 1203 mstly clr none 21:00 58 36 2 206 (SSW) 1195 mstly cldy none 22:00 59 37 6 187 (S) 1245 mstly cldy none 23:00 59 37 7 183 (S) 1181 cloudy none 00:00 60 36 17 129 (SE) 978 cloudy rain 01:00 51 42 23 155 (SSE) 990 cloudy rain 02:00 50 43 9 115 (ESE) 4250 cloudy lt rain 03:00 56 37 15 181 (S) 4713 cloudy dust 04:00 56 38 20 176 (S) 3207 cloudy none 05:00 53 39 22 157 (SSE) 2564 cloudy none 06:00 52 40 22 137 (SE) 861 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
