I had to power cycle dataq from hub35m because it was showing up as "Not Available" in the TCP/IP manager. There was a blue hose on the floor between TSPEC and the nitrogen tank, I moved it to the blue table next to the NICFPS dewar. We were closed for most of the night due to radar, rain, and dust. We had a couple motion errors while commanding the telescope from talk2boxes to and from zenith for the first tertiary rotation from NA2 to NA1. When I rotated the tertiary back to NA2 I had a lot of motion errors, one when I moved up to 89.9 with talk2boxes and it overshot that position, and then a bunch more when moving the telescope down after moving the tertiary (added details to PR2159). I had a few more while doing pointing model slews. Opened at about 20:00 when the dust was coming down and the radar cleared up. Checked echelle pointing, which was spot on. Dust came back up and we closed up before 23:00. We got a few raindrops around 23:00, and the clouds got worse. Opened about 03:00, did most of a pointing model (and implemented it) and then closed back up a little before 04:30 when dust was rising (and also humidity). Engineering: - Practiced manually rotating tertiary and added notes to the procedure document - Test slews to test Motion error trouble - Stress-tested obsA functionality a little - High-altitude Pointing model (implemented) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:17 ecamera 818( 595) 220 52 15.2 17.5 18.7 16.8 15.8 ND2 1.51 02:59 NA2gdr -560(37439) 107 75 14.3 14.9 16.2 14.8 14.4 B 1.71 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 68 45 11 118 (ESE) 3692 ptly cldy dust 17:00 66 44 26 128 (SE) 3807 ptly cldy dust 18:00 66 46 13 118 (ESE) 3792 ptly cldy rain 19:00 59 49 25 101 (E) 3971 ptly cldy rain 20:00 61 49 24 86 (E) 4281 ptly cldy dust 21:00 60 49 26 103 (ESE) 4144 mstly clr dust 22:00 60 48 14 82 (E) 3824 mstly clr dust 23:00 59 48 18 92 (E) 4853 mstly cldy lt rain 00:00 59 48 18 119 (ESE) 5103 mstly clr dust 01:00 59 47 18 132 (SE) 4412 mstly clr dust 02:00 58 46 18 114 (ESE) 3919 mstly clr dust 03:00 58 46 19 126 (SE) 3682 mstly clr dust 04:00 57 47 14 94 (E) 3946 mstly clr dust 05:00 56 48 15 95 (E) 4920 mstly clr dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
