A-half was clear and uneventful until clouds started to roll in around 23:30; the clouds were accompanied by radar returns, so we closed up. This gave Russet and I lots of time to work on the tertiary rotation. We didn't end up with any concrete answers, but we left the tertiary pointed at NA2. It started raining at 01:15, and the clouds stuck around and showed no signs of leaving. After consultation with the observer, who needed at least two hours on their target before twilight, I called it a night at 03:30. Mirror covers have been left in manual mode. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:31 ecamera 424( 343) 4 58 20.0 20.6 21.1 20.4 19.9 ND2 0.82 22:11 ecamera 405( 284) -130 50 19.6 19.6 20.2 19.5 19.6 Clear 0.94 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 72 48 10 84 (E) 1540 cloudy rain 17:00 60 53 15 84 (E) 2500 mstly cldy rain 18:00 63 51 15 131 (SE) 1468 ptly cldy none 19:00 67 46 17 133 (SE) 1010 clear none 20:00 68 45 18 142 (SE) 1140 clear none 21:00 69 41 18 141 (SE) 947 clear none 22:00 69 37 21 128 (SE) 758 clear none 23:00 67 43 18 128 (SE) 992 ptly cldy none 00:00 67 41 18 117 (ESE) 803 cloudy none 01:00 67 44 17 143 (SE) 1340 cloudy lt rain 02:00 66 48 20 146 (SE) 2333 cloudy lt rain 03:00 65 49 14 173 (S) 2227 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
