Over the course of first half the wind shifted to the SE, then near the changeover time the particle counts started going up, and it was also moderately cloudy at that time. So I closed the dome while I concentrated on moving the tertiary to NA2 (thanks to Shane Thomas for some timely help!). After that, the wind shifted back toward the west and the particle counts dropped, so I was able to re-open not long after. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:56 ecamera 516( 496) 63 74 20.6 22.1 22.3 21.7 21.0 ND2 0.88 01:36 arctic 396( 1324) 265 42 19.9 18.4 18.9 18.2 19.3 VR 1.09 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 78 38 8 252 (WSW) 1194 mstly clr none 17:00 76 36 8 255 (WSW) 1134 mstly clr none 18:00 78 37 16 241 (WSW) 1086 mstly clr none 19:00 75 37 16 222 (SW) 1189 clear none 20:00 71 37 12 188 (S) 1357 clear none 21:00 69 38 11 159 (SSE) 1582 clear none 22:00 68 38 18 139 (SE) 1666 clear none 23:00 66 37 20 141 (SE) 1645 ptly cldy none 00:00 65 37 13 128 (SE) 1721 ptly cldy none 01:00 64 37 3 138 (SE) 2559 ptly cldy smoke 02:00 68 37 7 255 (WSW) 1406 mstly clr none 03:00 67 37 7 243 (WSW) 1443 mstly clr none 04:00 67 37 8 216 (SW) 1435 clear none 05:00 66 37 6 207 (SSW) 1322 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
