Things cleared up a few hours later and we were able to open with surprisingly good seeing! Clouds started rolling back in but they weren't dangerous and we were able to stay open all night. There was a wind shift during B half and seeing went to hell. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:14 NICFPS 257( 1455) 214 61 15.1 15.9 16.4 15.8 15.4 Ks 1.28 22:30 NICFPS 294( 1484) 217 59 15.4 15.7 16.2 15.6 15.4 H 0.93 22:38 NICFPS 329( 1515) 218 58 15.0 15.6 16.1 15.5 15.2 J 0.88 00:02 NICFPS 355( 1544) 5 33 15.9 15.2 15.8 15.1 15.6 H2-2.12 0.96 01:10 APOLLO 400( 1847) 1 31 14.9 14.8 15.4 14.7 14.8 530 1.80 02:05 ecamera 326( -53) 12 55 14.3 14.2 14.9 14.2 14.0 ND2 2.25 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 40 8 103 (ESE) 1171 cloudy rain 17:00 58 45 6 248 (WSW) 9144 cloudy lt rain 18:00 57 41 10 88 (E) 780 mstly cldy lt rain 19:00 63 38 5 338 (NNW) 866 mstly cldy none 20:00 62 38 10 87 (E) 955 ptly cldy none 21:00 61 38 15 79 (E) 1018 mstly clr none 22:00 59 37 14 89 (E) 925 mstly clr none 23:00 60 35 13 131 (SE) 847 ptly cldy none 00:00 60 35 14 131 (SE) 800 mstly clr none 01:00 59 37 19 129 (SE) 822 ptly cldy none 02:00 57 46 17 126 (SE) 1172 mstly clr none 03:00 60 39 15 201 (SSW) 981 clear none 04:00 57 43 2 127 (SE) 1080 clear none 05:00 59 41 8 210 (SSW) 995 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
