I tried moving to a 2nd magnitude star with no luck in seeing anything on the guider. I troubleshooted the tertiary, eyelid, calibration stage, and guider shutter. In the end, it was the eyelid. I saw the outer eyelid open fully on the cameras, but it wasn't until I went upstairs that I saw the mirror-side eyelid was not opening. I added to PR 2134 about the issue. While we troubleshooted, WY01 used the echelle and then moved back to kosmos. And then back to echelle at the end of their time. The rest of the night went smooth with clear skies and good seeing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WY01 Kosmos T/H 20:54 21:17 NA2 eyelid stuck ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:29 ecamera 413( 155) 136 71 16.3 16.9 17.2 16.7 16.0 Clear 0.88 23:53 kosmos 520( 1253) 17 21 15.2 14.8 15.5 14.6 14.8 -- 1.32 01:08 ecamera 395( -6) 223 49 13.5 13.7 14.3 13.3 13.4 clear 1.04 03:34 ecamera 420( -55) 203 57 12.4 12.2 13.0 12.1 12.2 clear 1.02 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 68 31 12 200 (SSW) 806 mstly clr none 17:00 71 32 25 214 (SW) 922 mstly clr none 18:00 68 32 24 234 (SW) 1034 mstly clr none 19:00 65 31 16 231 (SW) 1329 mstly clr none 20:00 62 30 17 227 (SW) 1354 mstly clr none 21:00 61 30 12 221 (SW) 1210 clear none 22:00 61 31 12 260 (W) 1147 clear none 23:00 60 26 12 249 (WSW) 2134 clear none 00:00 59 25 12 236 (SW) 1608 clear none 01:00 57 25 7 276 (W) 1712 clear none 02:00 56 25 12 266 (W) 1255 clear none 03:00 54 27 14 265 (W) 1247 clear none 04:00 54 28 16 265 (W) 1055 clear none 05:00 52 27 17 264 (W) 1007 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
