Problem sounded similiar to PR2076. I had Russet look into it while I dealt with the Mercury observations (focus) and getting us on the setting target quickly. She notified Tracy and Shane about the issue which required Tracy to come over and troubleshoot the issue. Tracey rebooted the computer but this didn't solve the issue. He eventually figured out it was a bad network cable connection. Once communication was restored we though we were home free but we then had issues getting the ICC to restart propery and talk to the instrument. Bill eventually logged in and was able to resolve the restart issues, it needed to be done from a specific account which Bill had access to. In the interim, BY03 decided to go with their backup instrument NICFPS. Once we resolved the TSPEC issue and I re-mounted it for BY03 clouds swamped us. Clouds started breaking up just before 01:00 and we were able to get the second half program started with TSPEC on time. No problems with TSPEC or telescope 2nd half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BY03 TSPEC I/H 19:37 22:07 Network cable issue, then issue getting the ICC to communicate properly again ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:58 khigh 450( 914) 296 49 10.0 9.6 9.3 9.3 8.2 ND1 1.22 21:53 NICFPS 410( 1241) -94 59 10.0 8.1 8.5 7.9 8.2 Ks 1.46 01:09 tcamera 370( 925) 298 43 10.0 7.3 7.6 7.2 8.1 Ks 1.17 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 21 212 (SSW) 1947 mstly clr none 17:00 18 257 (WSW) 1834 mstly clr none 18:00 18 234 (SW) 1932 mstly clr none 19:00 16 212 (SSW) 1979 mstly clr none 20:00 11 240 (WSW) 1992 ptly cldy none 21:00 12 236 (SW) 1885 mstly cldy none 22:00 11 233 (SW) 1960 cloudy none 23:00 10 238 (WSW) 2130 cloudy none 00:00 1 204 (SSW) 2038 cloudy none 01:00 7 254 (WSW) 2066 mstly cldy none 02:00 8 245 (WSW) 1894 ptly cldy none 03:00 10 218 (SW) 1853 clear none 04:00 5 189 (S) 1692 clear none 05:00 7 215 (SW) 1694 mstly clr none 06:00 4 253 (WSW) 1806 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
