For a few hours during first half, the wind did dip down near or below the limit, so we were able to use the time to adjust pointing and alignment for the visiting instrument. But before changeover the wind rose again so I closed the dome. The only target for the second-half program was in the same direction as the wind, so even when it dropped down slightly below the limit, it wasn't possible to point there. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 36 249 (WSW) 2293 clear none 17:00 30 257 (WSW) 2520 clear none 18:00 27 257 (WSW) 3292 clear dust 19:00 36 269 (W) 2476 clear none 20:00 28 259 (W) 3232 clear none 21:00 31 262 (W) 1679 clear none 22:00 30 257 (WSW) 1619 clear none 23:00 33 252 (WSW) 1622 clear none 00:00 23 231 (SW) 1726 clear none 01:00 36 240 (WSW) 1989 clear none 02:00 32 242 (WSW) 2147 clear none 03:00 24 244 (WSW) 2350 clear none 04:00 29 240 (WSW) 2911 clear dust 05:00 23 236 (SW) 2975 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
