While the wind generally died down after sunset, the dust and clouds got worse and worse. The clouds started to thin out after 3 AM, but the dust persisted. We were getting ready to call the whole night lost when the dust suddenly dropped below limits around 04:30, so UW08 got a little bit of data! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:52 arctic 70( 419) -14 20 10.0 5.6 7.8 5.6 4.9 VR 1.84 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 23 235 (SW) 3484 clear dust 17:00 15 258 (WSW) 3862 clear dust 18:00 16 261 (W) 2983 mstly clr dust 19:00 30 257 (WSW) 3958 mstly clr dust 20:00 21 254 (WSW) 3958 ptly cldy dust 21:00 18 263 (W) 4548 mstly cldy dust 22:00 9 264 (W) 5902 cloudy dust 23:00 21 268 (W) 6566 cloudy dust 00:00 15 265 (W) 6043 cloudy dust 01:00 15 264 (W) 5458 cloudy dust 02:00 10 265 (W) 5121 mstly cldy dust 03:00 13 277 (W) 5832 ptly cldy dust 04:00 14 318 (NW) 5521 mstly clr dust 05:00 12 334 (NNW) 3336 mstly clr dust 06:00 10 322 (NW) 3121 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
