It never reached RPM after being turned on, and on-sky exposures showed varying behavior. UW01 decided to defocus the telescope instead of using the diffuser tonight. Obs0 had less than 1gb of space available; freed up about 100gb by deleting a TUI3 beta test folder in arc/Documents full of images that are duplicates of what's on /export/images after double checking with Shane. Photometric sky for the first half of the night. A few thin clouds after 03:00 that continued to get worse, and JH06 had to switch to a backup target before 04:00. We stopped a little before twilight when the clouds became too difficult to continue observing through. Started the night around 10C and a little under 25% humidity. Dropped down to 7C by 21:00. Temperature waffled around and was around 5.5C at the end of the night, humidity dropped slightly to about 18% by morning. We had elevated wind speeds a few times but never reached closure limits with either wind or dust tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:04 arctic 400( 847) 90 24 10.0 7.8 8.1 7.4 7.1 SDSS_i 1.64 00:19 ecamera 437( -266) -34 48 10.0 7.2 7.7 7.3 7.3 ND2 0.97 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 17 206 (SSW) 2344 clear none 17:00 23 212 (SSW) 2142 clear none 18:00 20 221 (SW) 2555 clear none 19:00 23 215 (SW) 2421 clear none 20:00 20 216 (SW) 1960 clear none 21:00 16 195 (SSW) 2265 clear none 22:00 11 209 (SSW) 2597 clear none 23:00 26 200 (SSW) 2519 clear none 00:00 26 200 (SSW) 2547 clear none 01:00 20 201 (SSW) 2376 clear none 02:00 25 204 (SSW) 1748 clear none 03:00 12 189 (S) 1751 ptly cldy none 04:00 15 232 (SW) 1362 mstly cldy none 05:00 13 228 (SW) 1299 mstly cldy none 06:00 14 264 (W) 1143 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
