It wasn't visible to the naked eye, but showed up fairly clearly on the cloudcam as a reddish glow in the north. Jack and I (David) split the shift tonight; Jack was on during A-half, I was on during B-half. Kosmos hung during a readout at the very end of A-half. Jack managed to recover the image and didn't have to restart the torrent, just the software according to the wiki. Jack sent an email about the error message. Some thin clouds started forming over us starting around 02:00. They got thicker and after SDSS reported virga and precipitation started showing up on radar nearby, we closed up at 04:20. As the forecast did not look promising regarding clouds, we gave up around 05:15. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU07 KOSMOS I/S 00:50 01:05 KOSMOS hung during readout. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:55 kosmos 271( 335) 13 56 10.0 1.3 3.3 1.9 0.6 -- 1.44 01:27 klow 373( 292) 236 66 10.0 -1.6 -1.8 -2.4 -2.2 -- 1.68 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 25 269 (W) clear none 17:00 23 273 (W) clear none 18:00 26 255 (WSW) 1253 clear none 19:00 18 267 (W) 1815 clear none 20:00 20 267 (W) 1725 clear none 21:00 13 265 (W) 1544 clear none 22:00 16 267 (W) 1088 clear none 23:00 10 268 (W) 800 clear none 00:00 9 290 (WNW) 789 clear none 01:00 14 291 (WNW) 738 clear none 02:00 17 297 (WNW) 776 mstly clr none 03:00 13 288 (WNW) 798 mstly cldy none 04:00 15 273 (W) 761 mstly cldy none 05:00 22 273 (W) 841 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
