We went through almost all of the troubleshooting processes on the wiki and between Russet, Tracey, Gordon, Bill and I, we were unable to fix the problem. Bill has a possible fix to explore further today. (Tracey did solve a broken monitor problem at least!) Thank you everyone for helping. (PR 2131) We switched to DIS instead, but after about half an hour BY02 decided they would rather use TSPEC, and were able to get some useful data with the nice clear skies. EN01 donated an hour of time to BY02 after midnight to continue their observations. We had photometric skies so I got multiple engineering throughput measurements for G163-50, SA107-1006, SA104-428, PG1633, and PG1657 at a range of altitudes. APOLLO star image script tests went pretty well too. We switched back to ARCTIC after AP01 to get sky flats. We had a few very thin clouds at the start of the night, which cleared up. Temperatures were between -2 and -4C and humidity between 40 and 55%. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BY02 KOSMOS I/H 18:11 21:34 KOSMOS IEB power failure (PR2131) ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:17 tcamera 430( 460) 334 65 10.0 -3.6 -3.0 -3.5 -3.3 Ks 1.08 01:54 arctic 468( 353) 1 52 10.0 -3.7 -3.1 -3.7 -3.3 SDSS_i 0.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 12 302 (WNW) 484 mstly clr none 17:00 12 318 (NW) 449 mstly clr none 18:00 13 330 (NNW) 505 mstly clr none 19:00 7 354 (N) 525 mstly clr none 20:00 14 316 (NW) 564 mstly clr none 21:00 16 319 (NW) 589 mstly clr none 22:00 18 338 (NNW) 573 clear none 23:00 6 344 (NNW) 603 clear none 00:00 9 1 (N) 764 clear none 01:00 10 6 (N) 772 clear none 02:00 7 2 (N) 840 clear none 03:00 4 348 (NNW) 783 clear none 04:00 14 311 (NW) 701 clear none 05:00 11 325 (NW) 602 clear none 06:00 6 269 (W) 581 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
