I checked this again at the end of the night and it was off by about 100 steps. I updated the boresight center on Kosmos tonight to what I have been using the past several months. It has been putting the boresight a little on the low side and we just normally manually fix it. This should make it more permanent. I did a set of test exposures with the kosmos slitviewer at various rotation angles to look for boresight drift (used 1.18 center slit) 2130 0 Deg 2131 20 deg 2132 40 deg 2133 60 deg 2134 80 deg 2135 100 deg 2136 120 deg 2137 140 deg 2138 160 deg 2139 180 deg 2140 200 deg 2141 220 deg 2142 240 deg 2143 260 deg 2144 0 deg 2145 -20 deg 2146 -40 deg 2147 -60 deg 2148 -80 deg 2149 -100 deg 2150 -120 deg 2151 -140 deg 2152 -160 deg 2153 -180 deg 2154 -200 deg 2155 -220 deg 2156 -240 deg 2157 -260 deg 2158 0 deg After examining images I discovered the boresight is not shown on the images. I may stack them to see how much the slit itself move, which will give the same end resulting motion. Rechecked slit focus vs detector Slit focus 1.72 arc sec @ 236 Imager focus 1.68 arc sec @ 336 Slit focus 1.62 arc sec @ 236 We used some of the time for eyepiece/camera. Amanda took most of the photos with her DSLR camera on a tripod. The clouds started appearing around 03:00 and moreso at 04:00 by 04:30 they were starting to cover ths sky. I gave up at 05:00 with clouds now overhead. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:28 kosmos 269( 801) -89 66 3.9 5.9 5.5 5.4 5.1 -- 0.84 21:13 kosmos 334( 875) -148 48 5.4 3.8 4.6 3.5 4.6 -- 1.03 00:50 kosmos 236( 768) 211 23 4.7 3.2 3.8 3.0 3.6 -- 1.72 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 25 1 245 (WSW) 191 clear none 17:00 42 15 1 331 (NNW) 103 clear none 18:00 39 18 5 354 (N) 177 clear none 19:00 39 18 4 351 (N) 137 clear none 20:00 41 16 1 244 (WSW) 125 clear none 21:00 42 20 5 265 (W) 93 clear none 22:00 42 21 2 249 (WSW) 101 clear none 23:00 41 21 5 223 (SW) 116 clear none 00:00 42 20 5 190 (S) 114 clear none 01:00 41 18 7 185 (S) 94 clear none 02:00 40 17 5 184 (S) 88 clear none 03:00 38 17 7 182 (S) 99 mstly clr none 04:00 38 17 2 194 (SSW) 111 mstly cldy none 05:00 39 18 3 237 (WSW) 110 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
