Nice clear skies with good seeing, probably about 1 arc second. Everyone got cold and tired around 9:45 and we called it quits with the remainder of the time being donated to JH02. The NA02 class did GREAT! They were teaching each other not an hour into the class and everyone was getting the hang of observing. Unfortunately, dust particles spiked around 4:30am and we had to close. They stayed elevated and there was no hope of opening again before twilight. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:07 kosmos 227( 999) -14 52 8.7 8.8 9.4 8.5 9.0 — 1.71 00:29 tcamera 329( 1242) 75 76 10.1 7.9 8.6 7.7 8.6 Ks 1.09 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 53 1 13 337 (NNW) 361 clear none 17:00 53 1 3 352 (N) 320 clear none 18:00 51 5 7 350 (N) 317 clear none 19:00 51 4 7 35 (NE) 404 clear none 20:00 51 3 7 355 (N) 391 clear none 21:00 50 5 9 357 (N) 761 clear none 22:00 47 6 11 2 (N) 1018 clear none 23:00 49 9 9 4 (N) 1285 clear none 00:00 47 12 4 349 (N) 700 clear none 01:00 47 9 3 4 (N) 966 clear none 02:00 50 6 7 357 (N) 2630 clear none 03:00 48 5 7 355 (N) 2909 clear none 04:00 50 4 7 3 (N) 3479 clear dust 05:00 50 6 8 359 (N) 5069 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
