The three dewpoint sensors were reporting relative humidity over a range from 95% to 75%. According to my best estimates from checking surfaces in the dome, the 3.5m TSL ()highest on the weather status page) was probably the most accurate. The humidity moderated and we were able to open for a couple of hours, but once the telescope cooled even borderline humidity was a problem. When surfaces in the dome grew slimy with incipient frost, I closed until the humidity dropped again. It continued to bounce around for a while but finally went down and stayed down at 4 am. On obsA, I was unable to use the nightlogfocus script as reported by Riley, so I did the entries by hand. The remote observer had a couple of TUI crashes when trying to move the calstage (also a couple of successful moves both before and after the two failures). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:24 kosmos 183(703) 62 62 -0.1 3.61 3.59 3.19 1.12 - 1.72 23:52 kosmos 250(618) -77 51 1.0 0.23 1.22 0.22 0.56 - 1.45 01:29 kosmos 375(751) -108 32 1.0 0.09 0.91 -0.20 0.59 - 1.12 04:33 tspec 375(915) -67 40 0.6 -0.52 -0.05 -1.12 0.31 Ks 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 40 28 5 274 (W) 811 mstly clr none 17:00 35 33 3 298 (WNW) 647 clear humid 18:00 33 32 6 351 (N) clear humid 19:00 31 26 5 7 (N) 1031 clear none 20:00 30 24 7 4 (N) 1079 clear none 21:00 34 27 8 67 (ENE) 922 clear humid 22:00 34 30 10 112 (ESE) 865 clear humid 23:00 34 30 11 122 (ESE) 796 clear humid 00:00 34 26 10 127 (SE) 712 clear none 01:00 34 24 9 146 (SE) 648 clear none 02:00 33 27 9 139 (SE) 604 clear none 03:00 32 27 4 138 (SE) 836 clear none 04:00 36 12 5 188 (S) clear none 05:00 36 9 2 202 (SSW) 413 clear none 06:00 36 2 2 334 (NNW) 277 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
