We couldn't move the cal stage and it threw an error msg in the log window, which flagged me to the problem. Clouds got too thick to observe anything in the slitviewer by around 19:36, even though I opted to keep the dome open after this. We decided to close the dome at 21:50 after 2 hrs of not getting any data at all due to clouds and the wind speeds outside increasing. No sense risking the telescope by being open if we cannot get anything at all. We gave up at 04:25 with lots of clouds and more on the way. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:15 klow 445( 769) 135 49 10.0 6.7 6.6 6.5 5.5 -- 1.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 16 264 (W) 434 ptly cldy none 17:00 16 247 (WSW) 287 ptly cldy none 18:00 17 262 (W) 316 mstly clr none 19:00 21 268 (W) 460 ptly cldy none 20:00 19 268 (W) 619 mstly cldy none 21:00 21 285 (WNW) 586 cloudy none 22:00 27 232 (SW) 693 cloudy none 23:00 29 227 (SW) 961 cloudy none 00:00 19 247 (WSW) 1211 cloudy none 01:00 23 237 (WSW) 936 cloudy none 02:00 23 234 (SW) 688 cloudy none 03:00 29 220 (SW) 752 cloudy none 04:00 19 235 (SW) 646 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
