In the middle part of the night there was some clear sky and some thinner clouds so I did some KOSMOS testing on-sky during that period. I did have difficulty getting KOSMOS to mount properly, and I was not succesful in using the workaround suggested before Christmas. At the start of the night I checked the scattered light on DIS (very bad but starting to improve for both blue and red - the speed of improvement will depend on temperature, and may be slow during the winter). I also worked on the ARCSAT schedule. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:56 kosmos 472( 637) 158 68 10.0 3.6 4.3 3.3 3.4 - 1.36 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 8 255 (WSW) 315 mstly cldy none 17:00 9 251 (WSW) 309 mstly cldy none 18:00 9 241 (WSW) 266 mstly cldy none 19:00 13 258 (WSW) 306 ptly cldy none 20:00 9 252 (WSW) 263 ptly cldy none 21:00 11 262 (W) 188 mstly clr none 22:00 14 261 (W) 191 clear none 23:00 14 254 (WSW) 186 clear none 00:00 15 240 (WSW) 281 ptly cldy none 01:00 13 241 (WSW) 354 ptly cldy none 02:00 22 220 (SW) 335 ptly cldy none 03:00 25 209 (SSW) 455 mstly cldy none 04:00 23 242 (WSW) 583 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
