John reported a problem when he went to take darks. Either moving the instrument or inverting it (during test rotation) casued it to fault. expose init fixed the issue. John was taking darks and the last dark failed to read. 022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally.nicfpsExpose 875 nicfps w UNPARSEDTEXT="Leach Controller configWord changed (ReadData 2) !!" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally.nicfpsExpose 875 nicfps w UNPARSEDTEXT="Previous Configuration Word: 0x140015" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally.nicfpsExpose 875 nicfps w UNPARSEDTEXT="Current Configuration Word: 0xFFFFFFFF" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally.nicfpsExpose 875 nicfps f UNPARSEDTEXT="\"Exposure FAILED!\"" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CmdDone: client-2 875 nicfps expose dark time=180.00 basename=nicfps/20220930T011359Z01.fits 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally 14 nicfpsExpose i nicfpsSeqState="CU05.bally","dark",180.0,5,5,"failed" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally 14 nicfpsExpose i comment="" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally 14 nicfpsExpose i nicfpsNextPath="CU05.bally","","Dark_180s.","0019",".fits" 2022-09-30 01:17:31 CU05.bally 14 nicfpsExpose f exposeTxt="dark failed" expose init fixed the issue. the camera went B&W on me after the first exp after the init. I got half way through my focus sweep and the camera went B&W on me again. expose init again fixed the issue. I warned John to be sure to check every incoming image tonight. At the very end of the first program NICFPS again failed to read out the camera, another startNubs fixed it. The internet seemed a bit flakey tonight. My first half observer was disconnected a couple times. My on site observers also noted they were disconnected from TUI a couple of times as well. I noticed on occasion that accessing web sites was a bit sluggish, but a minute or two later and things seemed to be working again. I let them put DSSI in front of KOSMOS, as they were transferring data. They will move it to the other side of the dome in the afternoon. No telescope problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:32 NICFPS 489( 1556) 355 53 10.6 13.0 12.7 12.5 10.9 H2-2.12 0.67 19:36 NA2gdr 1831(48831) 354 53 10.5 12.9 12.6 12.4 10.9 clear 1.20 20:51 NICFPS 363( 1321) 326 47 10.1 10.6 11.1 10.2 9.9 H2-2.12 0.64 22:46 NICFPS 323( 1217) 272 56 9.9 9.4 10.1 9.2 9.5 H2-2.12 0.78 01:23 dssi 323( 1082) 326 43 9.1 8.4 9.1 8.3 8.6 692 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 56 30 8 35 (NE) 420 ptly cldy none 17:00 56 30 4 100 (E) 371 ptly cldy none 18:00 54 31 0 195 (SSW) 324 ptly cldy none 19:00 51 29 19 124 (SE) 435 ptly cldy none 20:00 51 30 22 125 (SE) 585 ptly cldy none 21:00 50 30 20 138 (SE) 561 ptly cldy none 22:00 50 31 23 135 (SE) 738 mstly clr none 23:00 50 32 17 138 (SE) 820 mstly clr none 00:00 49 32 16 129 (SE) 736 mstly clr none 01:00 48 32 17 133 (SE) 948 mstly clr none 02:00 48 32 15 152 (SSE) 905 ptly cldy none 03:00 48 32 10 176 (S) 897 ptly cldy none 04:00 47 31 10 150 (SSE) 919 mstly cldy none 05:00 48 32 12 150 (SSE) 878 mstly cldy none 06:00 47 32 11 149 (SSE) 920 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
