I had to do a full reset to get everything working again, including going upstairs to power-cycle the torrent fiber box. Troubleshooting ended up taking about 40 minutes. After getting back on target, the observer reported that their 300s on-sky exposure looked like a bias/dark. I tried moving the cal stage in and taking a quartz image, and it looked fine, so I'm not sure what happened to their science image. I don't think the cal stage was blocking light for the science image, because we could see the sky in the slitviewer. Nevertheless, it seemed to be fixed after my test quartz, and we didn't have any more issues. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OU02 KOSMOS I/S 21:05 21:45 torrent server/box restarts ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:32 kosmos 259( 1090) 97 50 15.1 17.5 17.4 17.2 15.3 -- 1.37 01:15 ecamera 346( -43) -172 61 14.6 14.1 14.6 13.8 14.3 ND2 0.68 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 43 8 338 (NNW) 464 mstly clr none 17:00 64 44 5 288 (WNW) 384 mstly clr none 18:00 63 43 1 268 (W) 365 clear none 19:00 60 43 4 334 (NNW) 390 clear none 20:00 58 43 3 358 (N) 359 clear none 21:00 59 39 10 10 (N) 455 mstly clr none 22:00 59 38 11 37 (NE) 430 mstly clr none 23:00 60 37 12 25 (NNE) 385 mstly clr none 00:00 59 38 11 31 (NNE) 402 mstly clr none 01:00 58 39 11 21 (NNE) 380 mstly clr none 02:00 59 38 10 31 (NNE) 378 ptly cldy none 03:00 58 38 12 61 (ENE) 379 ptly cldy none 04:00 55 36 15 74 (ENE) 666 mstly clr none 05:00 54 40 15 80 (E) 990 mstly clr none 06:00 54 41 18 79 (E) 967 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
