We opened around 21:35. I did the instrument swap at 01:00 but we had clouds to our N, by the time I got the telescope focused the clouds got a bit thicker and prevented any useful observations with TSPEC. I didn't count this time against the program since it was unusable. After waiting over an hour, to see what the skies were going to do, I re-opened at 03:30. I did need to keep an eye on some nasty weather just to our N. It appeared that the rain threat would not bother us and the sky overhead was partly cloudy so I opened. Within 10 mins of opening, without fail, the clouds started forming over us once again! We pushed through it and David was able to get some data at least but the skies did not exactly cooperate. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:41 ecamera 250( 333) 96 64 17.8 19.9 20.1 20.1 19.4 ND3 1.08 22:36 ecamera 351( 424) 150 71 19.8 19.8 20.0 19.6 19.9 clear 0.73 23:25 klow 441( 1553) 95 55 19.9 19.3 19.8 19.2 19.5 -- 0.96 01:31 tcamera 383( 1652) 13 43 18.1 18.2 18.8 18.1 18.2 Ks 1.00 03:37 tcamera 318( 1561) -28 40 18.4 17.6 18.0 17.5 17.9 Ks 1.03 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 76 50 6 289 (WNW) 2377 ptly cldy lt rain 17:00 68 47 1 227 (SW) 2177 mstly cldy none 18:00 70 43 1 232 (SW) 1930 cloudy none 19:00 68 47 4 85 (E) 2029 cloudy none 20:00 67 45 6 15 (NNE) 2061 cloudy none 21:00 65 46 7 339 (NNW) 2082 ptly cldy none 22:00 68 44 6 46 (NE) 1749 ptly cldy none 23:00 68 44 6 53 (NE) 1420 mstly clr none 00:00 68 43 2 121 (ESE) 1420 mstly clr none 01:00 66 43 19 131 (SE) 2061 mstly cldy none 02:00 65 42 8 126 (SE) 2012 ptly cldy none 03:00 63 42 7 114 (ESE) 1905 ptly cldy none 04:00 64 42 7 324 (NW) 1925 mstly cldy none 05:00 61 46 11 35 (NE) 1449 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
