We did stay closed for the beginning of the night due to very thick clouds and (while not visible on the radar) some nearby sprinkles directly detected by Russet. We used this time to check KOSMOS internal cals. Engineering Tasks Completed: - During checkout, NICFPS needed a nicfps expose init and gcam was unhappy, gcamera/gcam startNubs and init brought it back - Dataq had stopped running and would not reconnect with error "Data acquisition is already open" and I had to restart Windows from within the parallels desktop to fix it (restarting parallels and the whole stripchart mac alone did not work, both times Windows resumed from where it was last time) - KOSMOS internal cals ND filter testing (too much attenuation) - Primary mirror collimation adjustments made with NO HELP from the clouds - Zeroed NA2 rotator - Removed the NA2 baffle fence due to interference with the NA2 eyelid, vignetting the NA2 guider - NA2 Guider instrument block - Shack-Hartmann collimation - Pointing adjustment with na2tilt and pointing model (implemented) Motion errors tonight at: - 57.6 moving down in the NE - 03:06, alt 50.5 moving downwards in NE - 03:35, alt 21.4 moving downwards in W ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:46 guider 513( 1453) 151 68 14.5 13.7 14.3 13.7 13.9 R 1.06 02:03 shack 200( 1640) 227 63 14.6 13.6 14.2 13.6 13.9 -- 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 59 47 8 86 (E) 250 mstly cldy none 17:00 60 46 7 88 (E) 346 mstly cldy none 18:00 63 47 0 133 (SE) 319 mstly cldy none 19:00 60 45 7 90 (E) 490 mstly cldy none 20:00 58 45 13 122 (ESE) 813 mstly cldy none 21:00 58 46 16 124 (SE) 1190 mstly cldy none 22:00 58 47 17 125 (SE) 1409 mstly cldy none 23:00 59 45 18 133 (SE) 1187 mstly cldy none 00:00 58 44 17 129 (SE) 1335 ptly cldy none 01:00 58 42 18 124 (SE) 1223 mstly clr none 02:00 58 42 15 146 (SE) 1462 mstly clr none 03:00 57 43 12 146 (SE) 1701 mstly clr none 04:00 57 45 10 147 (SSE) 1600 mstly clr none 05:00 57 44 11 174 (S) 1463 mstly clr none 06:00 57 45 9 167 (SSE) 1570 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
