Observing Specialist: A.Townsend
We had nearby radar for the first part of the night which finally cleared up around 23:30, and the clouds cleared up a little afterwards. We got on sky for about an hour before changeover, and then a few hours after before a storm popped up out of nowhere to the south of us. We got a nice lightning show but no rain. The storm stuck around nearby for too long though and we weren't able to reopen.
I had to do a nicfps expose init before focusing due to black and white bars, NICFPS had been rotated +/-30 degrees since it’s previous images.
NM05 tested our very first MOS slit tonight AND got some training in! We acquired good engineering information, but not much time on-sky between clouds.
Surprisingly, the secondary behaved itself tonight.
