We were able to recover it and had no other issues with M2 tonight. Pointing was good and we were able to switch to different ports and instruments without issue (not sure if that counts as "exercising" M2). We started the night out with clear skies but clouds rolled in at 3am and stayed until near dawn. However, we were able to get exposures with KOSMOS MOS! And Jupiter with the 0.66 High ND2 slit! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:57 khigh 350( 1350) 150 80 16.9 17.2 17.6 17.1 17.2 -- 1.34 00:06 kimage 360( 1354) 159 81 16.9 17.1 17.5 16.9 17.1 -- 1.02 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 48 7 179 (S) 1659 clear none 17:00 70 50 11 209 (SSW) 1501 clear none 18:00 71 43 2 213 (SSW) 1261 clear none 19:00 66 42 12 145 (SE) 1344 clear none 20:00 65 41 11 178 (S) 1495 clear none 21:00 65 41 13 158 (SSE) 1539 clear none 22:00 64 41 19 150 (SSE) 1514 clear none 23:00 63 41 17 131 (SE) 1512 clear none 00:00 62 43 17 129 (SE) 1596 clear none 01:00 63 43 16 136 (SE) 1845 clear none 02:00 62 42 13 126 (SE) 1752 clear none 03:00 60 41 15 128 (SE) 1694 mstly cldy none 04:00 61 40 14 139 (SE) 1539 mstly cldy none 05:00 62 41 8 134 (SE) 1573 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
