Clouds went away for a while but the dust climbed up and up. The rain came around 04:00. I visually checked where the Agile rotator was, even though it wasn't actually pinned in place. It appeared very close to -89 deg and checking with talk2boxes that was where it was reading as well. DIS contamination and focus check data taken Images are in /dis/pinflat and /dis/pinarc I checked the KOSMOS internal lamp exposure times, including using the new ND5 filter. Unless noted in the filename, 2.0 arc sec slits were used. images are in /Kosmos/Int_Lamps/ In the /Kosmos/Int_Lamps/Littrow directory, I first tested the difference in exp time has on the intensity of the Littrow line that dominates some spectra, taking spectra just after the Ar lamp is turned on. When the exposure ended I would turn the lamp off, wait about a minute, turn lamp back on and start the next exposure. In the second test in the Littrow directory, I use the same exp time but just leave the lamp on and look for any difference in intensity of the Littrow line. Rain started around 4AM, with a very nice, and needed, shower. Rain started around 04:00 with a nice little thunderstorm. At 04:44 the fire alarm panel had a fault alarm. We silenced the alarm. Probabaly due to the thunderstorm/lightning around us. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 39 9 49 (NE) 3871 cloudy dust 17:00 67 41 6 124 (SE) 4908 cloudy dust 18:00 66 44 10 102 (ESE) 5177 cloudy dust 19:00 67 43 7 116 (ESE) 6587 cloudy dust 20:00 64 43 12 114 (ESE) 6459 cloudy dust 21:00 63 43 17 114 (ESE) 7813 cloudy dust 22:00 62 44 14 110 (ESE) 9100 ptly cldy dust 23:00 60 49 20 111 (ESE) 14032 clear dust 00:00 59 50 20 111 (ESE) 15817 clear dust 01:00 60 48 16 120 (ESE) 13240 clear dust 02:00 59 48 22 127 (SE) 14191 ptly cldy dust 03:00 59 48 22 142 (SE) 14632 ptly cldy dust 04:00 58 48 19 161 (SSE) 12923 cloudy rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
