The answer was BAD THINGS! VERY BAD THINGS!!! TUI would launch but I couldn't do anything inside of it. While you could press a button, it resulted in nothing. The problem was solved once Shane unblocked the port and I restarted the hub and tcc, which was task 1 and 2 on the list anyway. However, due to the panic in trying to figure out what was going on and how to fix it, by scheduled afternoon training session with Louise Breuval was pushed back to 6:30pm. As she is on sky Friday night, we ran through everything and stopped around 10pm. - reset axes controllers - tested echelle tracking consistency. I moved between NA2, TR2, and BC2 from the NE and SE parts of the sky. Everything worked flawlessly! So I did NOT attempt to rehome the secondary mirror. - I tested Shack and, after conferring with Russet, found that no change was needed. - zeroed NA2 rotator but NOT agile rotator. Correction was -0.102 - Ran a 100 pt pointing model but did NOT reduce it (ran out of time). I made it to star 100 before the sky became too bright! - I could NOT see the star positions displayed in pointing data screen with this version of TUI. - I've been noticing some strange behavior in my echelle data so I took some echelle sky exposures at sunset and sunrise ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:56 ecamera 308( 456) 230 58 20.6 21.2 21.3 20.5 20.8 Clear 0.85 21:07 ecamera 285( 364) 50 65 20.1 19.8 20.2 19.6 19.5 Clear 1.10 22:39 ecamera 481( 470) 146 80 18.4 18.0 18.8 17.9 18.0 Clear 0.89 23:52 ecamera 409( 371) 28 72 17.8 17.4 18.1 17.4 17.4 Clear 1.24 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 25 13 265 (W) 1546 clear none 17:00 77 27 11 187 (S) 1578 clear none 18:00 74 27 9 261 (W) 1780 clear none 19:00 72 27 10 283 (WNW) 1768 clear none 20:00 71 25 6 241 (WSW) 1685 clear none 21:00 69 23 7 192 (SSW) 1542 clear none 22:00 66 24 7 193 (SSW) 1350 clear none 23:00 66 32 20 132 (SE) 2612 clear none 00:00 65 32 18 147 (SSE) 2586 clear none 01:00 64 32 20 131 (SE) 2341 clear none 02:00 63 32 19 136 (SE) 2383 clear none 03:00 62 32 15 154 (SSE) 2697 clear none 04:00 62 31 14 156 (SSE) 2505 clear none 05:00 61 31 14 146 (SE) 2589 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
