The ARCSAT user told me that the telescope wouldn't let her run the dome flat script because it thought the weather was unsafe. The weather was fine, and it shouldn't matter for dome flats anyway. I also noticed that the webcam image wasn't updating, and that ACP was reporting the telescope at an altitude of -11, which was definitely wrong. When I restarted the arcsatExtras script, it was freezing up after the first time the following two lines were printed: 2022-05-25 19:59:44 IRSC and SKYWATCHER: Telescope position file transfered telpos.txt | 0 kB | 0.0 kB/s | ETA: 00:00:00 | 100% telpos.txt | 0 kB | 0.0 kB/s | ETA: 00:00:00 | 100% I logged into the TCS computer, synchronized with the APO TAI time server, then used the "Telescope > Initialization > Date/Time" menu in the DFM software to get the telescope on the right time. Then I just restarted all the arcsat-user software, and the telescope (and arcsatExtras) functioned properly from then on. We had to close the 3.5m at 23:00 due to smoke, but opened back up around 01:45 as the smoke seemed to settle. Later on it rose a little bit above our limits (~4200 or so) but as the counts were staying pretty stable and the humidity was low, I kept the telescope open for observing. We called it a night at 05:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:44 dcamera 739( 1411) 230 72 12.8 13.7 13.1 13.4 13.6 -- 0.94 21:46 dcamera 550( 1197) 106 47 13.7 12.9 13.2 12.7 13.1 -- 1.34 01:47 khigh 401( 1193) 71 38 12.2 12.2 12.8 12.2 12.2 -- 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 56 13 16 317 (NW) 1711 clear none 17:00 58 14 10 339 (NNW) 1006 clear none 18:00 58 15 15 321 (NW) 957 clear none 19:00 58 15 9 326 (NW) 1033 clear none 20:00 56 15 10 286 (WNW) 1101 clear none 21:00 56 15 8 288 (WNW) 916 clear none 22:00 57 16 11 311 (NW) 1198 clear none 23:00 57 16 13 293 (WNW) 3330 clear dust 00:00 57 17 8 264 (W) 3519 clear dust 01:00 55 16 8 261 (W) 3841 clear dust 02:00 54 16 8 238 (WSW) 3619 clear dust 03:00 55 17 5 291 (WNW) 4132 clear dust 04:00 54 17 10 356 (N) 3943 clear dust 05:00 53 17 11 1 (N) 3407 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
