UL is still down, and I did some testing to see if I could reproduce the set full window errors. We checked pointing at the very start of the night for DSSI and decided to home the secondary and tertiary mirrors, and did a small pointing correction after that. There was a motion error at the very start of the night during test slews at the very beginning of the first slew in alt, and then when we initialized the axes for the eyepiece (timestamp 06:44:42) there was an odd growl. It did not reoccur after reinitializing the axes. Strip chart mac mostly froze while we were upstairs with the eyepiece, I had to restart the strip chart mac. Some very thin clouds towards morning (or maybe high smoke from the fires to the west—but dust counts all stayed low) but nothing troublesome. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UV01 DSSI T/H 20:03 20:38 Homing Mirrors + pointing fix ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:44 dssi 210( 1600) -2 53 17.1 17.8 17.6 17.7 17.4 692 0.79 01:25 tcamera 352( 1449) -143 57 16.1 14.7 15.5 14.8 14.9 Ks 0.92 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 -6 9 231 (SW) 1496 clear none 17:00 70 -2 7 264 (W) 1574 clear none 18:00 72 -5 5 256 (WSW) 1513 clear none 19:00 66 -9 4 286 (WNW) 1399 clear none 20:00 62 -14 5 257 (WSW) 1535 clear none 21:00 62 -14 1 231 (SW) 1519 clear none 22:00 62 -8 3 274 (W) 1519 clear none 23:00 63 -13 7 209 (SSW) 1638 clear none 00:00 60 -14 6 183 (S) 1378 clear none 01:00 58 -12 7 190 (S) 1364 clear none 02:00 61 -13 6 193 (SSW) 1295 clear none 03:00 61 -13 3 239 (WSW) 1329 clear none 04:00 60 -13 6 255 (WSW) 1294 mstly clr none 05:00 61 -13 6 273 (W) 1375 mstly clr none 06:00 61 -13 5 303 (WNW) 1398 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
