Later, some high clouds moved in and grew thick. Although the dome remained open, the first half observer got nothing for the last hour of first half. During second half, the class exercised the telescope on sky and occasionally saw just a few photons from some of the brightest stars, but no science data were obtained so I counted that time lost as well. We had a little excitement when we discovered that requesting binning from the kosmos slitviewer can crash it moderately hard. But I was able to get it back without actually restarting any software so that was fortunate. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:05 dcamera 686( 1323) 204 47 11.5 12.7 12.2 12.6 12.2 - 1.52 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 59 8 20 252 (WSW) 3559 clear none 17:00 57 4 20 265 (W) 3085 clear none 18:00 57 6 28 258 (WSW) 3396 clear none 19:00 54 8 26 240 (WSW) 3522 clear none 20:00 53 8 20 256 (WSW) 3380 mstly clr none 21:00 52 5 21 273 (W) 2694 mstly clr none 22:00 52 3 24 269 (W) 2407 ptly cldy none 23:00 51 3 23 259 (W) 2184 ptly cldy none 00:00 50 3 19 267 (W) 2059 mstly cldy none 01:00 50 3 19 263 (W) 2111 cloudy none 02:00 49 5 21 275 (W) 2107 cloudy none 03:00 49 5 13 257 (WSW) 2249 cloudy none 04:00 48 5 17 266 (W) 2234 cloudy none 05:00 45 8 15 263 (W) 2560 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
