The wind shifted to come from the east around midnight, and the dust started rising not long thereafter, so I switched to reversed fan configuration. However, the outside dust counts were spiking quickly enough to make me uncomfortable, and I closed up at 01:37. Around this time, Karen also reported pollen on her car, although I did not see any significant accumulation. The dust stayed high the rest of B-half, and by 04:30, the humidity was high too. The prospects for reopening were slim to none before sunrise, so the observers called it a night at 05:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:23 kosmos 566( 1239) 88 70 7.8 10.2 10.3 10.0 9.6 -- 1.13 01:16 khigh 242( 702) 240 45 3.5 5.3 6.4 5.3 5.0 -- 2.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 11 12 213 (SSW) 2445 clear none 17:00 52 10 9 306 (NW) 2572 clear none 18:00 52 7 8 267 (W) 2412 clear none 19:00 49 6 9 270 (W) 2605 clear none 20:00 45 5 5 19 (NNE) 2478 clear none 21:00 46 6 5 180 (S) 2616 clear none 22:00 46 7 8 194 (SSW) 2630 clear none 23:00 45 6 9 183 (S) 2740 clear none 00:00 45 6 7 174 (S) 2652 clear none 01:00 40 7 15 89 (E) 3067 clear dust 02:00 38 24 9 93 (E) 4870 clear dust 03:00 36 25 11 89 (E) 4696 clear dust 04:00 35 28 12 83 (E) 5426 clear humid 05:00 33 30 17 78 (ENE) clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
