Might need a new SD card??? Bill said not to power cycle the routers in the SDSS control room. I rebooted the hub and TCC, that didn't go well and kicked me off similiar to the way Russet got kicked off in Oct 2021. We fiddled around with stopping tron, waiting, and restarting but eventually needed to restart the hub. We found that the truss lamp daemon was the culprit (again) and used other methods to control the lamps. Shane will further investigate the daemon issue tomorrow. Hub and TCC both reset (finally) with trunk version. Zero'ed rotator (+0.033) Restarted controllers for ALT, AZ, NA2, Agile. I zero'ed the TR2 rotator. I installed the 2.10 center slit in Kosmos for tests and usage later in the week. Clouds initially kept us closed, then wind picked up and also kept us closed. While closed I did the Kosmos internal lamp exposure tests Red disperser, ND5, int Qrtz lamp, 20s = 125k, 25s = 150k, 30s = 180k, kosmos/ktest.0002-0004 respectively Blue disperser, no filt, int Qrtz lamps, 2s = 30k, 14s = 190k, 15s = 200k , kosmos/ktest.0005-0007 respectively, flat was not uniform (see images) Blue disperser, no filt, int Ne, 2s, 15s, kosmos/ktest.0008-0009 respectively Blue disperser, no filt, int Kr, 30s, 45s, 60s, kosmos/ktest.0010-0012 respectively Blue disperser, no filt, int Ar, 45s, 180s, kosmos/ktest.0013-0014 respectively Red disperser, no filt, int Ne, 2s, kosmos/ktest.0015 Red disperser, no filt, int Kr, 2s, 1s, kosmos/ktest.0016-0017 Red disperser, no filt, int Ar, 0.5s, 1s, kosmos/ktest.0018-0019 respectively Once we were able to open, Russet did tests trying to find alternative methods for locating a star on TSPEC without using a slit viewer. She will email a separate engineering report on her results. We closed again due to wind at 03:05 and then re-opened at 03:40. Russet finished her TSPEC tests at 04:40 and we switched to Shack-Hartmann, which had it's own set of issues. PR submitted. Wind gusts also then went over the limit at this point as well, so we closed for what remained of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 59 22 14 284 (WNW) 2660 cloudy none 17:00 59 18 19 281 (W) 1783 cloudy none 18:00 58 18 19 288 (WNW) 1612 cloudy none 19:00 56 11 21 284 (WNW) 1594 cloudy none 20:00 56 11 17 276 (W) 1452 cloudy none 21:00 55 10 18 263 (W) 1148 mstly cldy none 22:00 54 11 22 276 (W) 1211 mstly cldy none 23:00 55 9 33 278 (W) 1094 ptly cldy none 00:00 53 10 30 270 (W) 982 mstly clr none 01:00 52 10 30 271 (W) 973 clear none 02:00 51 9 25 282 (WNW) 809 clear none 03:00 51 9 24 285 (WNW) 983 ptly cldy none 04:00 50 9 22 269 (W) 929 ptly cldy none 05:00 49 9 26 268 (W) 1114 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
