During checkout, gcam, tcam, DIS, and TSPEC all failed. gcam came back with hub startNubs gcam + gcam init. DIS (PR 2078) and tcam (PR 2079) are still down. TSPEC was taking exposures but they had a size of 0 bytes and wouldn’t open. The tcamera icc computer had also shut itself off, and while powering it back up did not solve tcam issues, tspec came back after power cycling the main spectrograph Leach controller again. Reversed fan configuration at 21:30 when 1-micron dust > 3000 cts, back at 22:04 when it came back down. KOSMOS slitviewer shutter failed multiple times >2C temp, but not often enough that it impeded target acquisition or guiding. We restarted the hub before mounting the eyepiece, but that also did not fix our tcam problem. OU05 got a crash course on using KOSMOS and were able to observe despite the bright moon and being unable to use TSPEC. We closed up before twilight for dome cals. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:18 AGILE 525(-1254) 30 48 3.5 4.1 4.3 3.8 3.9 BG40 1.67 01:36 kosmos 415( 663) 189 80 2.6 1.2 2.4 1.8 2.1 -- 1.19 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 -14 19 271 (W) 1854 clear none 17:00 42 -15 15 257 (WSW) 2120 clear none 18:00 43 -14 20 219 (SW) 2301 clear none 19:00 40 -16 17 241 (WSW) 2372 mstly clr none 20:00 37 -18 21 217 (SW) 2620 mstly clr none 21:00 38 -23 21 224 (SW) 3213 mstly clr none 22:00 38 -24 17 241 (WSW) 2520 mstly clr none 23:00 37 -21 12 268 (W) 1862 mstly clr none 00:00 37 -19 16 269 (W) 1897 mstly clr none 01:00 36 -18 10 285 (WNW) 1837 mstly clr none 02:00 37 -17 13 298 (WNW) 1765 mstly clr none 03:00 40 -13 10 266 (W) 1845 clear none 04:00 41 -6 17 267 (W) 1195 clear none 05:00 41 -6 15 281 (W) 1020 clear none 06:00 40 -8 15 268 (W) 1138 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
