Pretty soon clouds started coming in, hampering science, but we were able to shoot through the clouds at least enough for training purposes. The second-half observer elected to start with in-dome cals because the clouds were initially too thick to get through. When we switched to Agile, pointing was pretty far off because it did not get fixed after the pointing disruptions a few weeks ago, so I spent about 10 minutes adjusting tertiary tilts and counted it as EQUIP time. Later, with Tspec in use, the wind which had dropped for a while picked up again, and the altitude overcurrented while pointing into wind at about 32 mph. I did not count this as euipment trouble since it was fundamentally weather. We were able to observe a target in the eastern sky instead, but the wind kept rising and then the humidity climbed also, until it was time to close. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OU01 P T/H 21:56 22:06 Pointing fix for TR2 ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:31 kosmos 456( 1150) 123 65 9.6 10.5 10.9 10.2 10.1 - 1.65 21:11 AGILE 500(-1052) 16 39 8.7 8.8 9.5 8.6 8.7 BG40 1.99 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 15 24 263 (W) 4555 mstly clr none 17:00 53 13 19 258 (WSW) 3408 mstly clr none 18:00 55 11 32 270 (W) 3546 mstly clr none 19:00 52 11 29 269 (W) 3771 mstly clr none 20:00 50 10 26 268 (W) 4928 mstly clr none 21:00 49 9 22 256 (WSW) 3900 ptly cldy none 22:00 48 11 26 266 (W) 3259 ptly cldy none 23:00 48 14 21 264 (W) 3397 mstly cldy none 00:00 47 15 22 277 (W) 3266 ptly cldy none 01:00 46 15 18 259 (W) 3330 mstly cldy none 02:00 45 15 18 257 (WSW) 3015 ptly cldy none 03:00 44 18 20 264 (W) 3292 mstly clr none 04:00 42 26 35 271 (W) 3814 mstly clr none 05:00 40 29 28 271 (W) 4253 ptly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
