Wind continued to be a problem all night long, with strong gusts spaced far enough apart that we were always closing AFTER the gust, and opening AFTER the lighter winds. After the fourth wind closure, the last observer gave up. (However, note that one of the wind closures was timed exactly with pre-planned Tspec cals, and we opened right after the cals finished, so I did not count that time as a weather loss.) NICFPS ICC was unhappy again in the afternoon, and I was advised to leave it as-is for IT to try to diagnose on Monday. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:06 APOLLO 450( 1573) 60 62 3.5 4.1 4.0 4.0 4.1 530 1.60 19:38 kosmos 325( 696) 171 46 4.2 3.4 3.9 3.5 3.7 - 1.75 00:48 tcamera 362( 812) 185 74 2.7 1.2 2.4 1.8 1.9 Ks 0.99 04:20 ecamera 349( -480) 69 64 0.5 0.5 1.5 0.8 0.9 ND4 1.51 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 12 14 248 (WSW) 798 clear none 17:00 42 11 14 254 (WSW) 777 clear none 18:00 39 9 17 227 (SW) 716 clear none 19:00 40 1 27 232 (SW) 628 clear none 20:00 39 2 27 220 (SW) 1405 clear none 21:00 38 -2 26 225 (SW) 1313 clear none 22:00 38 -1 29 228 (SW) 768 clear none 23:00 37 2 28 229 (SW) 858 clear none 00:00 36 2 24 224 (SW) 725 clear none 01:00 37 -1 28 235 (SW) 598 clear none 02:00 36 -1 28 229 (SW) 627 clear none 03:00 36 2 24 219 (SW) 609 clear none 04:00 35 2 28 230 (SW) 647 clear none 05:00 34 3 30 204 (SSW) 774 clear none 06:00 33 1 24 225 (SW) 897 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
