Unusually, the dust came straight down and stayed down, while the wind kept trying to creep back up, but we were able to keep going with the telescope pointed away from the wind direction. During checkout, NICFPS was unresponsive. It needed a computer reboot and terminal server reset, in addition to software restarts. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:27 klow 250( 649) 128 70 2.2 4.3 6.6 3.8 3.2 - 1.77 00:27 tcamera 475( 898) 222 49 0.5 0.3 1.7 0.2 0.4 Ks 0.97 04:33 ecamera 411( -593) 56 60 -3.4 -3.3 -2.4 -3.3 -3.2 ND2 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 11 25 215 (SW) 5280 mstly clr dust 17:00 48 10 31 218 (SW) 5816 mstly clr dust 18:00 45 12 36 240 (WSW) 22676 mstly clr dust 19:00 43 11 39 235 (SW) 23207 mstly clr dust 20:00 41 12 21 222 (SW) 22073 mstly clr dust 21:00 40 10 25 271 (W) 21403 mstly clr dust 22:00 37 3 27 246 (WSW) 5668 mstly clr dust 23:00 35 5 29 264 (W) 1409 clear none 00:00 33 7 28 266 (W) 1339 clear none 01:00 31 9 24 251 (WSW) 1735 clear none 02:00 30 11 29 267 (W) 2464 clear none 03:00 28 11 16 269 (W) 2092 clear none 04:00 27 12 23 269 (W) 1150 clear none 05:00 26 12 21 267 (W) 942 clear none 06:00 25 13 22 237 (WSW) 1262 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
