They cleared out around 8pm and we had good seeing all night. Though, while the seeing was good, the airmass was high. UV01 was observing near the altitude limit and the NA2 guider was not properly field start guiding. Stars were correctly identified in the field but when ever I started to guide in Field Star mode the software would look for the star in a different position. I submitted a PR on it (PR 2077). In the end, it looks as if the high airmass and change in seeing was responsible for the guider's misbehavior. At 2:00 am I refocused and had no other problems with the guider. Clouds rolled back in around 5 am and hung out for the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:39 tcamera 441( 1484) -52 51 12.3 13.5 13.7 13.1 12.4 Ks 1.07 21:08 arctic 506( 1350) 36 17 11.9 11.8 12.5 11.8 11.9 Semrock 1.79 02:08 arctic 414( 1103) -57 80 10.5 9.6 10.2 9.6 9.9 sdss-g 0.79 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 59 12 11 260 (W) 1120 mstly cldy none 17:00 58 9 11 249 (WSW) 1118 mstly cldy none 18:00 57 9 8 258 (WSW) 1163 mstly cldy none 19:00 53 8 10 220 (SW) 1145 mstly cldy none 20:00 54 4 12 219 (SW) 1436 mstly clr none 21:00 54 4 11 248 (WSW) 1234 clear none 22:00 53 4 12 262 (W) 1076 clear none 23:00 51 6 7 269 (W) 1111 clear none 00:00 51 5 11 266 (W) 1040 clear none 01:00 50 4 9 265 (W) 953 clear none 02:00 51 2 14 284 (WNW) 994 clear none 03:00 51 -1 12 282 (WNW) 849 mstly clr none 04:00 51 -1 13 280 (W) 920 clear none 05:00 50 -1 10 269 (W) 947 mstly clr none 06:00 49 1 8 255 (WSW) 1062 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
