(By b-half the LR quad had recovered on its own but the UR had not.) We closed at 20:38 due to a 1-micron dust spike at 6000 counts, clouds were making observations difficult already. I tried re-opening the dome when the dust counts came down under 6000 again and continuing to fall, but since all of NM01's targets were in the direction of the wind even turning on the press fans and closing the louvers/door and turning off the IntEx didn't help at all, the inside dust counts immediately rose to match the outside ones over 5000 counts. So we stayed closed until a little about 01:00 when the dust counts finally came down under 4000. The clouds came back not long after we opened, and then the humidity went up and the snowstorms starting getting to close on the radar, and we closed at 02:36. It started snowing at 04:16, and we were unable to reopen. Started snow program at 05:30 as the snow started sticking to the ground. Stopped at 06:30 and parked the telescope at 0,20. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:02 arctic 473( 1163) -69 48 8.5 9.2 9.5 9.1 8.6 SDSS_z 1.12 01:23 NICFPS 75( 877) 14 62 1.6 2.1 5.5 2.4 2.8 MK-Ks 1.54 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 51 12 12 234 (SW) 4644 mstly cldy none 17:00 51 6 27 219 (SW) 3227 ptly cldy none 18:00 53 8 18 210 (SSW) 2956 mstly clr none 19:00 49 8 11 214 (SW) 2634 mstly clr none 20:00 47 7 15 250 (WSW) 2423 ptly cldy dust 21:00 44 7 15 242 (WSW) 6315 ptly cldy dust 22:00 43 8 12 243 (WSW) 6816 mstly clr dust 23:00 39 12 13 294 (WNW) 5261 mstly clr dust 00:00 37 15 18 273 (W) 4478 mstly clr dust 01:00 35 18 17 267 (W) 3178 mstly clr none 02:00 34 19 15 264 (W) 2740 mstly clr none 03:00 31 22 19 260 (W) 2055 cloudy none 04:00 29 22 11 272 (W) 1442 cloudy snow 05:00 26 25 20 247 (WSW) cloudy snow 06:00 26 18 19 221 (SW) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
