We re-opened at 23:50. As the temps dropped during the 2nd half the KOSMOS slitviewer shutter started sticking intermittently. About 05:20 the slitviewer became very unhappy with a stuck shutter for several minutes. It eventually got itself unstuck. There were no stars in the NA2 guider to use either. The slitviewer stuck during our last exposure of the night as well. Hopefully it will unstick when the temps warm during the daytime. The dome visible and IR cam displays were not working tonight. The windows screen was at a login prompt and when I logged in there was a message about there may be too many users or browser config changed. No other problems tonight. They were taking a few KOSMOS truss lamp cals at the end of the night so instrument left mounted. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:03 tcamera 760( 1386) 15 64 2.5 4.8 3.4 4.6 3.7 Ks 2.25 18:41 tcamera 661( 1210) 21 61 2.1 2.0 2.9 2.7 2.4 Ks 2.47 19:40 kosmos 550( 790) 174 70 1.6 0.9 2.1 1.3 1.5 -- 1.70 00:01 kosmos 425( 585) 94 45 -2.8 -1.1 -0.3 -1.8 -2.4 -- 2.25 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 12 1 205 (SSW) 229 mstly clr none 17:00 41 5 10 76 (ENE) 400 mstly clr none 18:00 37 4 19 80 (E) 232 mstly clr none 19:00 35 5 30 69 (ENE) 274 mstly clr none 20:00 35 5 27 61 (ENE) 278 ptly cldy none 21:00 34 6 30 77 (ENE) 289 ptly cldy none 22:00 30 9 31 68 (ENE) 1702 ptly cldy none 23:00 28 11 36 70 (ENE) 1613 ptly cldy none 00:00 27 12 12 54 (NE) 1417 ptly cldy none 01:00 33 5 1 238 (WSW) 667 mstly clr none 02:00 30 8 11 68 (ENE) 871 clear none 03:00 29 7 12 24 (NNE) 298 clear none 04:00 35 1 5 95 (E) 220 clear none 05:00 36 1 2 205 (SSW) 215 clear none 06:00 33 3 5 354 (N) 291 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
