Some high clouds did creep in during the last couple of hours of the night. Near the midnight changeover, wind started to go above the limit, and I had to close before the second half program could get started. After a while the wind eased up so we were able to re-open. Tcam needed a power cycle at the start of the night but it didn't cost any useful time. The KOSMOS slitviewer shutter had stickage on maybe 20% of exposures, a big improvement over the previous few nights. Longer exposures and keeping the shutter exercised were useful strategies for improving the behavior. There was also one case of trouble with the KOSMOS calstage getting stuck in the "moving" state. I waited to be sure it was responding to 'kosmos status' command and then repeated the requested move, which worked the second time. Near the midnight changeover, wind started to go above the limit, and I had to close before the second half program could get started. After a while the wind eased up so we were able to re-open. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 tcamera 675( 1133) 51 52 0.1 1.1 1.3 1.1 0.6 Ks 0.88 19:32 kosmos 325( 531) 28 33 -0.5 -0.3 0.0 -0.8 -0.5 - 1.47 02:16 klow 275( 390) 71 71 -1.6 -1.7 -2.1 -2.5 -2.4 - 1.24 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 -29 8 342 (NNW) 40 clear none 17:00 33 -28 3 357 (N) 59 clear none 18:00 32 -37 12 16 (NNE) 57 clear none 19:00 32 -23 11 20 (NNE) 60 clear none 20:00 32 -18 20 14 (NNE) 43 clear none 21:00 32 -4 19 29 (NNE) 91 clear none 22:00 33 -2 19 28 (NNE) 115 clear none 23:00 30 2 15 3 (N) 122 clear none 00:00 29 -1 26 17 (NNE) 158 mstly clr none 01:00 28 1 28 26 (NNE) 162 mstly clr none 02:00 28 1 22 23 (NNE) 119 mstly clr none 03:00 30 -4 17 18 (NNE) 102 mstly clr none 04:00 31 -10 4 26 (NNE) 134 mstly clr none 05:00 29 -10 5 46 (NE) 89 ptly cldy none 06:00 29 -13 6 92 (E) 116 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
