Fixed by slewing to 75 alt and setting to NA2 ecam not happy after restarts - sendCmd Command timed out (see 11:01:45 in log) Kosmos not happy after restart - Seems to be a file write issue to forTron Echelle not happy after restart - Permission denied in creating file NICFPS not happy after restart - Error opening file Restarted controllers, Alt, Az, NA2, Agile Zero'ed rotator - It was spot on at 0, no change made Wind, dust, clouds to start the night. Clouds eventually moved out and the dust subsided but the wind gusts stayed over the limit so we stayed closed until conditions improved. We finally opened at 22:03 Russet ran some DIS slitviewer vs. focus tests for about an hour. We switched to Shack-Hartmann for collimation snd the seeing blew up as soon as we switched so we waited a while and worked on the KOSMOS issues we were having. Next up pointing model while Russet backed up the last several nights data. We had a clamp issue when moving from TR4 to NA2, Russet homed and fixed the issue. with the clamp. We finished the pointing model and implemented. I did some spot checks on sky and the pointing looked excellent for NA2. Mounted Kosmos and went to focus. The shutter was sticking (-2C outside). Then I could not close the mirror covers or eyelids remotely! Resetting key switch fixed that issue. Russet created a new KOSMOS mask for the 0.87 center slit. We then went on sky to check the plate scale for the center slit position. Looked fine. I then tested more of the KOSMOS focus scripts and made some final tweaks/adjustments to the scripts before placing them into the TUI Scripts directory on Obs1. No echelle IOL was taken tonight due to Echelle issues. I finished up a little early at 05:25 The following instruments are having issues. Shane is aware of the problems. ecam, Echelle, Kosmos, NICFPS NICFPS and Echelle are both scheduled for use tomorrow night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:09 dcamera 275( 273) 120 60 -2.0 -0.7 -0.3 -1.1 -1.3 -- 1.86 22:19 guider 245( 504) 121 62 -2.3 -0.9 -0.7 -1.6 -1.7 R 1.72 22:23 dcamera 366( 348) 121 62 -2.3 -1.0 -0.8 -1.8 -1.8 -- 1.64 01:08 guider 316( 514) 58 65 -2.3 -3.2 -2.6 -3.4 -3.0 R 3.00 03:11 guider 347( 549) 331 73 -1.4 -2.0 -2.4 -2.9 -2.4 R 2.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 18 30 271 (W) 19716 mstly cldy dust 17:00 37 19 29 247 (WSW) 8273 ptly cldy dust 18:00 33 17 32 245 (WSW) 3251 ptly cldy none 19:00 32 18 29 256 (WSW) 2667 mstly cldy none 20:00 31 18 32 259 (W) 2812 mstly cldy none 21:00 30 18 22 257 (WSW) 1957 ptly cldy none 22:00 28 20 21 252 (WSW) 1913 mstly cldy none 23:00 28 21 16 266 (W) 2032 ptly cldy none 00:00 27 20 17 267 (W) 1908 clear none 01:00 28 17 9 235 (SW) 1599 clear none 02:00 29 12 11 271 (W) 1473 clear none 03:00 28 12 11 219 (SW) 2084 clear none 04:00 29 9 11 228 (SW) 1668 clear none 05:00 28 9 18 244 (WSW) 1291 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
