There was never any chance of opening. I completed resets and restarts, Candace did a round of remote observer training, and I did some testing of KOSMOS. If weather HAD been good, the training would not have interfered with going on sky; therefore that time is still accounted as EN01, not DD02. KOSMOS also needed a torrent power cycle for unknown reasons. It was okay after the hub restart, then a couple hours later when the observer trainees tried to command the instrument, it had a problem. I was able to confirm that the problem had actually begun before the users were commanding it, so they were not the cause. It took me several tries and about an hour to recover the instrument. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 35 13 265 (W) ptly cldy humid 17:00 36 34 14 267 (W) ptly cldy humid 18:00 36 35 14 263 (W) cloudy fog 19:00 35 35 15 262 (W) cloudy fog 20:00 35 34 13 240 (WSW) cloudy fog 21:00 35 30 19 237 (WSW) cloudy humid 22:00 35 35 19 247 (WSW) cloudy fog 23:00 37 35 23 252 (WSW) cloudy fog 00:00 37 35 16 255 (WSW) cloudy fog 01:00 36 35 15 265 (W) cloudy fog 02:00 34 35 15 258 (WSW) cloudy fog 03:00 33 34 16 266 (W) cloudy fog 04:00 33 34 18 269 (W) cloudy fog 05:00 33 34 23 271 (W) cloudy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
