Using the new roof cams I could see some accumulation and drifting (especially on cam 4). I ran the snow program all night and it cleared some of the snow off the roof but unfortunately not the drifts. I consulted with Russet and we both felt it was a bit risky to try to open with the snow seen on the roof. I left KOSMOS mounted to NA2 so Bill could look into some issues I saw with it yesterday. I gave up at 04:10 and parked the telescope due south to further melt snow on the enclosure during the daytime. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 27 38 19 249 (WSW) cloudy snow 17:00 27 38 18 250 (WSW) cloudy snow 18:00 27 39 14 278 (W) cloudy humid 19:00 27 39 10 266 (W) cloudy humid 20:00 27 38 10 299 (WNW) cloudy humid 21:00 28 37 15 324 (NW) cloudy humid 22:00 27 37 17 308 (NW) cloudy humid 23:00 26 37 15 321 (NW) cloudy humid 00:00 25 35 17 306 (NW) cloudy humid 01:00 25 35 18 305 (NW) mstly clr humid 02:00 24 33 15 305 (NW) clear humid 03:00 24 33 22 305 (NW) clear none 04:00 24 32 20 314 (NW) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
