I updated echelle pointing with echtilt. We had one instance where the echelle cal mirror returned a not fully out of the beam path error; cycling the mirror fixed it. Closed dome at 00:05 due to thick clouds that came in quickly and wind gust speeds over the closure limit. Unfortunately, we were facing into the wind, and after stopping the telescope and closing the mirror covers, the wind pushed the telescope, colliding the dome and pushing the telescope to 89.4 alt. I resolved the dome collision and used talk2boxes to bring the telescope back down to a safe altitude and did some test slews, which looked fine. We had radar, clouds, a little snow, and high winds with gusts up to 50 mph. Even after the weather system passed through, the wind gusts stayed too high to reopen the rest of the night. DSSI cart is parked between NA2 and NICFPS so that the instrument can remain plugged in, but beware of the cord across the floor at NA2. I used TUI3.1.0 all night with no problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:33 ecamera 414( -461) 218 74 3.5 3.9 3.7 3.4 3.0 ND3 0.97 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 24 16 185 (S) 973 clear none 17:00 37 26 18 204 (SSW) 1073 clear none 18:00 38 22 8 194 (SSW) 940 clear none 19:00 37 26 20 194 (SSW) 1129 clear none 20:00 38 25 27 207 (SSW) 1542 clear none 21:00 37 25 27 197 (SSW) 1443 clear none 22:00 35 21 25 216 (SW) 1393 clear none 23:00 33 20 26 242 (WSW) 1330 ptly cldy none 00:00 33 19 32 265 (W) 1135 cloudy none 01:00 30 19 23 259 (W) 1249 cloudy lt snow 02:00 28 18 38 269 (W) 3099 cloudy none 03:00 26 18 38 293 (WNW) 3020 ptly cldy none 04:00 24 15 32 273 (W) 1078 mstly clr none 05:00 21 11 23 291 (WNW) 1097 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
