We tried Kcam with no ND filter and things were too bright, even with some help from the clouds. We then tried the ND1 filter and it was still a little too bright, but you could make out the phase of Mercury. It looks like ND2 on clear nights is the trick. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:18 ecamera 329( -292) 235 35 10.4 8.7 9.6 8.7 9.0 ND2 1.11 05:59 klow 321( 728) 80 14 10.1 7.8 8.6 7.6 8.6 -- 2.61 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 36 15 299 (WNW) 522 clear none 17:00 54 31 4 293 (WNW) 532 clear none 18:00 53 26 6 286 (WNW) 542 clear none 19:00 51 22 8 284 (WNW) 596 clear none 20:00 50 28 12 287 (WNW) 533 clear none 21:00 48 29 6 259 (W) 499 mstly clr none 22:00 49 32 3 251 (WSW) 359 mstly clr none 23:00 49 32 5 244 (WSW) 434 clear none 00:00 49 30 2 213 (SSW) 482 clear none 01:00 51 26 2 231 (SW) 441 mstly clr none 02:00 50 0 2 221 (SW) 475 mstly clr none 03:00 50 25 2 252 (WSW) 425 ptly cldy none 04:00 50 25 3 332 (NNW) 469 mstly clr none 05:00 49 26 1 274 (W) 426 mstly clr none 06:00 50 25 2 287 (WNW) 440 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
