While taking twilight flats we discovered that there was condensation built up inside arctic. It does not appear to be on the CCD, but it is on the glass. I sent a PR and throughput did not happen. We tested Joe Burchett's MOS fields and, while there was a lot of struggle with one field, there was success on another! He reported being very pleased with the results. Russet ran collimation and and changed the SecYTilt by -30. I ran a pointing model but did not have time to reduce or apply it before JH07 started the night. JH07 was....not really able to observe Mercury. Turns out the ND on kcam has way more of an effect than on dcam. We were barely able to see Mercury even though we had beautiful skies with subarcsec seeing. We'll try taking off the ND for tomorrow. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:15 klow 391( 751) 143 67 8.1 7.7 8.1 7.4 7.5 -- 0.81 01:31 shack 400( 1343) 108 58 8.3 7.2 7.8 7.4 7.7 -- 1.00 03:01 guider 383( 809) 102 81 8.9 7.1 7.7 7.2 7.8 clear 1.27 05:54 klow 368( 714) -11 65 7.8 7.4 8.0 7.4 7.6 -- 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 51 41 10 266 (W) 239 clear none 17:00 52 41 11 279 (W) 258 clear none 18:00 49 37 5 269 (W) 225 clear none 19:00 47 36 9 267 (W) 255 clear none 20:00 47 37 12 264 (W) 257 clear none 21:00 47 39 11 250 (WSW) 247 clear none 22:00 47 40 12 250 (WSW) clear humid 23:00 47 40 12 263 (W) clear humid 00:00 47 39 14 271 (W) clear humid 01:00 47 39 15 274 (W) 234 mstly clr none 02:00 47 39 12 302 (WNW) 247 mstly clr none 03:00 48 36 11 349 (N) 270 clear none 04:00 48 33 11 342 (NNW) 249 clear none 05:00 47 31 11 351 (N) 226 clear none 06:00 47 31 17 354 (N) 218 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
