During second half, some high clouds returned and we also struggled with variable seeing and borderline winds, but were able to observer successfully through the entire night. KOSMOS had some intermittent trouble moving the calstage in and out, several times getting stuck "Moving" without reaching its destibation. A combination of 'kosmos status' and repeated move commands resolved the problem within a minute or two each time. I'm not sure why this problem would show up now when it seemed fine during the very cold weather a few days ago. There was also some difficulty with the wi-fi both in the ops building and in the dome; perhaps somee of the routers got recofigured by the recent power outages. Aside from that, the telescope and instruments worked well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:42 dcamera 499( 750) -28 49 3.4 4.5 4.2 4.2 4.4 - 1.22 00:33 kosmos 250( 510) -49 68 2.8 1.3 2.6 2.0 2.2 - 1.73 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 -23 6 210 (SSW) 49 ptly cldy none 17:00 38 -19 7 274 (W) 45 mstly clr none 18:00 39 -27 10 309 (NW) 33 clear none 19:00 38 -17 14 294 (WNW) 66 clear none 20:00 38 -16 14 289 (WNW) 128 clear none 21:00 38 -13 12 271 (W) 55 clear none 22:00 38 -9 18 275 (W) 69 clear none 23:00 38 -13 17 289 (WNW) 73 clear none 00:00 35 -13 17 296 (WNW) 76 mstly clr none 01:00 37 -18 20 294 (WNW) 87 ptly cldy none 02:00 37 -17 21 292 (WNW) 95 ptly cldy none 03:00 37 -18 18 282 (WNW) 84 ptly cldy none 04:00 36 -19 21 293 (WNW) 69 mstly clr none 05:00 36 -14 23 313 (NW) 75 mstly clr none 06:00 35 -9 22 307 (NW) 98 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
