I also had to recover the upper left quad on ARCTIC (as expected). The weather was too humid to open at sunset, but that cleared up and the rain nearby dissipated enough to open around 20:45. Clouds did persist throughout A-half, but we stayed open nonetheless. At switchover, I closed for DIS cals and because of a band of fast-moving clouds from the east I suspected could start raining on us due to upslope flow. While it didn't rain on us, I did see rain pop up on radar nearby along the ridge, so it was probably a good call...and it was so overcast we weren't seeing anything anyway. We continued to not see much of anything for the rest of the night, due to cloud cover and humidity hovering near limits. When I moved the tertiary to BC1 and tried to set inst=apollo, one of the tertiary mirror amplifiers reported a fault (see PR #2040). The tertiary was clamped in place so we felt it safe to park the telescope. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:53 AGILE 511( -629) 172 69 15.7 18.0 17.7 17.6 17.2 BG40 0.85 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 61 55 16 137 (SE) 776 cloudy lt rain 17:00 60 55 7 91 (E) cloudy none 18:00 65 53 2 152 (SSE) 777 cloudy none 19:00 60 54 13 124 (SE) 787 cloudy humid 20:00 60 53 1 163 (SSE) mstly clr humid 21:00 61 50 2 155 (SSE) 810 ptly cldy none 22:00 61 49 5 115 (ESE) 818 mstly cldy none 23:00 61 48 1 209 (SSW) 790 mstly cldy none 00:00 59 50 11 148 (SSE) 847 mstly cldy none 01:00 60 49 11 174 (S) 1237 cloudy none 02:00 59 50 13 181 (S) 1730 cloudy none 03:00 57 53 11 160 (SSE) 1777 mstly cldy none 04:00 58 52 13 182 (S) cloudy none 05:00 57 52 13 205 (SSW) cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
