The night began with lots of rain. Though the rain stopped a little after sunset and the sky overhead started clearing up, there were storms over the basin (and on radar) too close to open the dome and blowing out more clouds and storms in our general direction. We opened at 23:30, though clouds came back around 01:30 but without rain so we stayed open. The observers had trouble with clouds obscuring their images at multiple points and decided it was not worth trying to continue after 04:50, when we shut the dome. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:44 tcamera 243( 1186) -18 55 10.8 11.4 12.1 11.2 10.8 Ks 1.15 02:16 tcamera 413( 1313) -46 78 11.9 10.8 11.4 10.8 11.1 Ks 0.81 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 52 43 6 140 (SE) 1787 cloudy rain 17:00 55 50 6 115 (ESE) cloudy rain 18:00 53 48 12 135 (SE) cloudy rain 19:00 50 46 13 108 (ESE) cloudy lt rain 20:00 50 45 15 90 (E) ptly cldy none 21:00 52 43 12 87 (E) 1126 mstly clr none 22:00 53 42 14 112 (ESE) 1265 mstly clr none 23:00 53 42 15 125 (SE) 1046 mstly clr none 00:00 52 44 14 129 (SE) 755 mstly clr none 01:00 52 45 15 128 (SE) 624 ptly cldy none 02:00 53 43 12 118 (ESE) 677 mstly cldy none 03:00 54 42 12 127 (SE) 693 mstly cldy none 04:00 52 43 11 129 (SE) 583 cloudy none 05:00 53 44 11 125 (SE) 667 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
