There were some scattered clouds in the basin and I was watching one of them closely before switch over. Radar indicated that it was probably safe...but then virga hit and there was a little but of drizzle on the mirror. Particle counts were no high tonight. After the cloud passed we opened back up to clear skies. Another set of similar clouds that didn't initially look dangerous skirted us to the east. However, it did not get close enough to warrant closing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:30 ecamera 458( 579) -40 45 18.4 20.4 19.8 20.3 19.2 ND4 0.95 20:42 ecamera 357( 422) -29 23 17.5 18.8 19.0 18.2 18.2 ND1 1.40 02:06 arctic 354( 1368) -47 60 16.7 16.2 16.6 16.3 16.3 sdss-r 0.82 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 40 12 215 (SW) 1557 clear none 17:00 72 36 12 218 (SW) 1474 clear none 18:00 70 34 6 257 (WSW) 1477 clear none 19:00 64 35 7 246 (WSW) 1353 clear none 20:00 65 30 5 228 (SW) 1404 clear none 21:00 64 32 11 160 (SSE) 1399 mstly clr none 22:00 63 34 9 165 (SSE) 1449 mstly clr none 23:00 63 34 14 180 (S) 1644 mstly clr none 00:00 63 32 11 174 (S) 1619 ptly cldy none 01:00 63 33 4 216 (SW) 1704 mstly cldy lt rain 02:00 62 29 9 184 (S) 2138 clear none 03:00 62 33 5 187 (S) 1650 clear none 04:00 63 34 2 245 (WSW) 1249 ptly cldy none 05:00 60 34 8 10 (N) 1493 ptly cldy none 06:00 59 33 16 62 (ENE) 1346 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
